Seksuelle overgrep og hemmelighold blant barn i barneskolen

Abstract

Seksuelle overgrep er et tabubelagt tema som det ikke snakkes særlig høyt om, men vi kan likevel ikke nekte for at det skjer. Seksuelle overgrep mot barn kan føre til alvorlige konsekvenser, både for psykisk og sosial helse, og det er derfor viktig at det blir avdekket så tidlig som mulig. Til tross for dette holdes seksuelle overgrep hemmelig på grunn av ulike årsaker, noe som kompliserer arbeidet med tematikken. Fokuset i denne oppgaven vil være rettet mot barn som allerede er utsatt for seksuelle overgrep, men som ikke har fortalt det til noen. Skole er en arena hvor sosialarbeidere kan observere og tilbringe tid sammen med elever. Dette er en sentral arena for avdekking, da barns relasjon og tillit til andre er særlig viktig for at de forteller om seksuelle overgrep

Jeg har derfor valgt problemstillingen: Hvilke muligheter og begrensninger har sosialarbeider i barneskole til å tilrettelegge for at barn forteller om seksuelle overgrep?

Jeg skal studere hvordan kompetanse blant sosialarbeidere i barneskoler kan ha påvirkning, samt hvordan sosialarbeidere kan møte overgrepsutsatte barn på best mulig måte. Jeg skal også se hvordan samarbeid med andre profesjoner og tjenester, samt velferdsstaten kan føre til muligheter og begrensninger. Hvert barn vil ha individuelle behov, noe som bidrar til å gjøre temaet og problemstillingen kompleks. Jeg vil derfor ha et generelt fokus på sosialarbeidere og hvordan de kan bidra med tilrettelegging blant barn.

Sexual abuse is a taboo subject and is therefore often not talked loudly about, but we cannot deny that it is happening. It can cause serious consequences, both for mental and social health, and that is the reason it should be uncovered as early as possible. Despite this, sexual abuse is often kept secret for various reasons, which can complicate the situation. My focus in this paper will be on children who already have been sexually abused, but who have not told anyone. School is an arena where social workers can observe and spend time with students. This is a central arena to uncover sexual abuse, as children’s relations and trust with others are especially important so that they tell about sexual abuse.

The thesis question for this paper is therefor: What opportunities and limitations do social workers in primary school have to facilitate that children tell about sexual abuse?

I will study how competence among social workers in primary schools may have an impact, as well as how social workers can meet children in the best possible way. I will also study how cooperation between professionals and services, as well as the welfare state can lead to opportunities and limitations. The fact that every child has individual needs, makes both the theme and the thesis question complex. Therefore, I am going to have a general focus on the role of social workers and how they can contribute with facilitation among children.
