Regnskapsanalyse av Læringsverkstedet AS

Abstract

Sammendrag

I denne oppgaven har vi gjennomført en lønnsomhetsanalyse av barnehagekjeden Læringsverkstedet AS for perioden 2016 - 2020. Læringsverkstedet AS er Norges største private barnehagekjede med nesten 250 barnehager og rundt 6 000 ansatte. Denne drives av ekteparet Randi Lauvland Sundby og Hans Jacob Sundby fra.

Problemstillingen vi har undersøkt lyder som følger:

Hvordan har lønnsomheten utviklet seg i Læringsverkstedet AS i perioden 2016-2020, og hva kan mulige årsaken til denne utviklingen være?

For å besvare problemstillingen har vi valgt å utføre en regnskapsanalyse med fokus på lønnsomhet. Vi legger fokus på likviditet, soliditet, finansiering og lønnsomhet. For å besvare problemstillingen var det også relevant å se på de eksterne faktorene, dette gjennom en PESTEL–analyse. Til dette har vi benyttet oss av historiske tall bedriften selv har lagt ut på egen nettside. I tillegg har vi utført dybde intervju med relevant informant.

Oppgavens innlending består av et avsnitt hvor vi ser på bedriften som helhet. Her blir også tema, problemstilling og årsaken til at vi har valgt å ta utgangspunkt i Læringsverkstedet AS. Dette blir videre oppfulgt med en teoridel. Teorikapittelet tar først for seg en regnskapsanalyse før vi ser på de eksterne faktorene som påvirker bedriften. Vi kommer videre til metodekapittelet, det redegjøres det for metodiske valg og forskningsdesign. Analyse delen av bacheloroppgave består av relevante nøkkeltall hvor vi ser på utviklingen til bedriftens økonomi. Vi avslutter analysekapittelet med å se på hvordan de eksterne faktorene kan ha påvirket resultatet vi får av å analysere nøkkeltall. Avslutningsvis vil vi konkludere med å svare på vår problemstilling. Dette med hensyn på resultatene vi har funnet i analyse delen av oppgaven.

Regnskapsanalysen viser noe varierende utvikling i lønnsomheten, dette er også tilfellet for de tre andre hovedgruppene. PESTEL-analysen indikerer at noen av de juridiske, politiske og økonomiske forholdene påvirker utviklingen. Disse forholdene vil trolig ha større påvirkning i fremtiden. Videre er det ingen signifikante indikasjoner på superprofitt i Læringsverkstedet AS.

Abstract

In this task we have completed a profitability analysis of the kindergarten chain with the name Læringsverkstedet AS from the period of 2016 to 2020. Lærsingverkstedet AS is Norway’s largest private kindergarten chain with close to 250 kindergartens and 6000 employees. The chain is led by the husband-and-wife Randi Lauvland Sundby and Hans Jacob Sundby.

The research question we have explored is as follows: How has the profitability increased in Læringverkstedet AS in the period from 2016 to 2020 and what can be the reason for said growth?

To answer the research question, we have chosen to undergo an accounting analysis with the focus on profitability. Here we focus on liquidity, solidity, financing, and profitability. To answer the research question, it was also relevant to see the external factors, this will be completed through a PESTEL analysis. For this to occur we used historical data the company has posted on their own website. Including this we have conducted in depth interview with a relevant informant.

The task’s introduction contains of a paragraph where we look at the business as a whole. Here the theme, the research question, and reasoning we have taken a basis on Læringsverkstedet AS. This will be further continued with theory section. The section will firstly talk about accounting analysis before we look at the external factors which affects the business. Then we continue a section about the methodology where we look at the methods used Læringsverkstedet and their research design. The analytical part of the task contains the relevant key values where we can see the increase in the business economy. We finish it up with analyzing the key values. To conclude it all we shall answer our research question based on the results acquired through the analysis of the data acquired in this part of the task.

The Accounting analysis shows some varying development in profitability. This is also the case for the other three other main groups. The PESTEL-analysis indicates that some of the legal, political, and economic conditions which affect the development. These conditions will have an effect, in the future. At the moment there are no significant indicators of major profit in Læringsverkstedet AS.
