Radio og podkast - medier for fremtiden?

Abstract

I denne oppgaven har jeg sett nærmere på fremveksten og utviklingen til radio og podkast. Med fordypning i litteratur som omhandler disse mediene og med bruk av medievitenskapelige begreper og teori, har jeg utført en sammenligning av påstander omkring fremtiden til de to mediene. Sammenligningen tar utgangspunkt i en artikkel av Richard Berry fra 2006 og empiri i form av et intervju av Kjetil Saugestad i NRK, som jeg gjorde i forbindelse med oppgaven i 2020. Til tross for at antakelsene om fremtiden for radio og podkast fra 15 år tilbake har vist seg å ikke stemme, kan Saugestad bekrefte at bekymringene om fremtiden og den teknologiske utviklingen er noenlunde de samme i dag som den gang.

In this thesis I have taken a closer look at the emergence and future of radio and podcast. Through research in literature on these media and use of concepts and theory from science of media, I have compared different claims about the future of these two media. The comparison is based on an article from 2006, by Richard Berry, in addition to empiricism in the form of an interview I did with Kjetil Saugestad from the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) in May 2020. Despite the assumptions regarding the future of radio and podcast, made 15 years ago are proven wrong, Mr. Saugestad confirms that the concerns for the future and the technological development at that time, are fairly similar to those of today.
