Lønnsomhetsanalyse av Akvafuture AS

Abstract

I denne oppgaven har jeg gjennomført en regnskapsanalyse av Akvafuture AS i perioden 2015-2019. Jeg har sett på den økonomiske utviklingen til oppdrettsselskapet ved å bruke nøkkeltall for lønnsomhet, likviditet, finansiering og soliditet. I tillegg har jeg gjort en strategisk analyse i form av en PESTEL-analyse.

Oppgaven begynner med en presentasjon av tema og problemstilling. I tillegg skal jeg introdusere bedriften Akvafuture AS. Videre gjør jeg rede for teori som jeg har valgt å bruke. Teoridelen er todelt. Første del handler om regnskapsanalysen, mens andre del tar for seg den strategiske analysen. Deretter legger jeg frem min metodiske fremgangsmåte. Her diskuterer jeg valgene jeg har tatt gjennom oppgaven i forhold til problemstilling, datainnsamling og undersøkelsesdesign. Avslutningsvis i metodedelen foretar jeg en kritisk diskusjon rundt oppgavens validitet og reliabilitet på bakgrunn av de metodiske valgene jeg har gjort.

Den mest omfattende delen av oppgaven er analysedelen. Først presenteres nøkkeltallene til Akvafuture. Videre følger det en komparativ analyse hvor jeg sammenligner nøkkeltallene til Akvafuture med andre aktører. I den avsluttende delen av analysen fokuserer jeg på eksterne forhold som kan a påvirket lønnsomhetsutviklingen til Akvafuture.

I siste del av oppgaven kommer jeg med en konklusjon basert på analysedelen. Denne delen vil bestå av et sammendrag av hvordan lønnsomhetsutviklingen har sett ut i perioden. I tillegg diskuteres det hva mulige årsaker til utviklingen kan ha vært.

In this thesis I have completed an accounting analysis of the salmon farming company Akvafuture AS, for the period of 2015-2019. I have looked at the financial development of the fish farming company by using key economic figures for profitability, liquidity, financing and solvency. I have also done a strategic analysis, using a PESTEL-model.

My assignment starts off with an introduction of the topic and the research question. I will also give a short presentation of the company Akvafuture AS. Furthermore, I explain the theory that I have chosen to use. The first part of the theory is about the accounting analysis, while the second part deals with the strategic analysis. In the next chapter, I present my methodological approach. Here I discuss the choices I have made while working with the thesis, in relation to the research question, data collection and survey design. In the last part of this chapter, I make a critical discussion about the validity and reliability on the thesis, based on the methodological choices I have made.

The analysis is the most comprehensive part of the thesis. Firstly, the key economic figures for Akvafuture AS will be presented. Afterward, there will follow a comparative analysis where I compare the key economic figures for Akvafuture with other companies. In the last part of the analysis, I focus on external factors that may have affected Akvafuture’s profitability development over the period.

At the end of the thesis, I will give a conclusion based on the analysis. This chapter contains a summary of how the profitability development has been over the period, along with a discussion of possible reasons for why the development have been like this.
