Barn og unge i møte med barnevernet

Abstract

Det er stadig økt fokus på barns medvirkning i barnevernet. For barn og unge kan det føles ut som om dette ikke blir tatt på alvor. Med litteraturstudie som metode belyser oppgaven hvordan barn og unge opplever medvirkning i møte med barnevernet. Barn og unge i barnevernet ønsker å bli lyttet til og tatt på alvor.

Oppgavens hovedfunn viser at barn og unge opplever liten grad av medvirkning. Sentrale funn viser at barn og unge i barnevernet ikke blir snakket med. Barn og unge får heller ingen informasjon om barnevernets rolle. Det at barn og unge ikke blir involvert i barnevernets arbeid fører til at de ikke får noen anledning til å medvirke i sine saker.

There is a growing focus on children’s participation in child welfare. For children and adolescent, it may feel like this is not being taken seriously. Using a literature study as a method, this thesis highlight’s how children and adolescent experience participation in meetings with child welfare. Children and adolescent want to be listened to and taken seriously.

The main findings of this thesis show that children and adolescent experiencing a small degree of participation. Key findings show that children and adolescent are not included in the conversation with the child welfare. Children and adolescent are also getting no information about the role of child welfare. The fact that children and adolescent do not even get involved in the work of child welfare services means that they have no opportunity to participate in their cases.
