Development of New Flood Protection Design

Abstract

Denne oppgaven evaluerer konsepter for et forbedret design av flomvern-systemer utviklet av AquaFence AS. Hovedfokuset var å vurdere ulike løsninger for hovedpanelene som er brukt i systemet. Arbeidet ble utført ved grundig evaluering av det eksisterende systemet for å vurdere dets ulike deler og funksjoner. Arbeidet resulterte i en lovende designløsning laget av aluminiumprofiler og canvas i stedet for kryssfinerplatene som er brukt i det eksisterende produktet. Løsningen reduserer vekten og bedrer funksjon- aliteten til systemet.

This thesis aims to evaluate concepts for a improved redesigning of a flood protection system developed by AquaFence AS. The main goal was to consider different solutions for the main panels that are used in the structure of the system. The work was done by a thorough investigation of the existing system to gain knowledge about its parts and functions. The work resulted in a promising design solution that uses a aluminium profiles and canvas instead of the plywood from the old design. The solution reduces the weight and improves the functionality of the system.
