From both a digital- as well as musically historical perspective, this assignment will examine the properties of subject matters within particular phenomena such as understanding the term “djent”, looking at the effects as well as the importance of virtual instruments. This, in particular regards observed within the developments of such a particular musical genre - having arisen through seemingly situationally random, causal factors. The Swedish musicians, perhaps best known as members of the group “Meshuggah”, will be presented as entrepreneurs - carving the path within their field of digitalization within the music industry as well as development. Through the usage of digital tools, which will be presented, they’ve represented an inspiring creative source of influence towards the artists of modernizing constellations. This is where names such as Misha Mansoor (aka “Bulb”) do appear, as well as “Periphery” which will be discussed further in the following moments of the text - being key elements of the emerging field at hand. Within modern progressive music, and further, the domain of metal - computational resources, advancing virtualization of instrumental resources and plug-ins, - have opened up the development of music technology and furthered creative possibility.
