«Hvordan fungerer skuespillerteknikken til Ivana Chubbuck tilrettelagt med OKTAV-modellen som teaterpedagogisk metode for unge voksne?»

Abstract

Min interesse er å videreutvikle min forståelse av hvordan en kan undervise i skuespillerteknikk. Jeg tror at samspillet mellom OKTAV-modellen og Ivana Chubbuck-teknikken har et stort potensial til å fungere godt sammen, og at dramastudenter er et passende nivå for utprøving ettersom de allerede har både faglig interesse og noe erfaring med skuespillerteknikk. Med andre ord, det jeg ønsker å undersøke i denne oppgaven er som følger:

«Hvordan fungerer skuespillerteknikken til Ivana Chubbuck tilrettelagt med OKTAV-modellen som teaterpedagogisk metode for unge voksne?»

For å svare på problemstillingen vil jeg først gjøre rede for relevant teori og begreper knyttet til Ivana Chubbuck-teknikken, teaterpedagogikk og valg av empirisk metode. Deretter vil jeg på bakgrunn av egen utdanning og praksis som skuespiller utforme en todagers workshop i Chubbuck-teknikken, med den didaktiske strukturen til OKTAV-modellen. For å avgrense oppgaven, vil deltakerne av workshopen samtidig fungere som informanter i to fokusgruppeintervju for å gi sine synspunkt på samspillet mellom OKTAV-modellen og Chubbucks skuespillerteknikk. Etter transkripsjon av intervjuene og analyse, drøfter jeg funnene i lys av det teoretiske grunnlaget.

My aim for this thesis is to further develop my understanding of how to teach acting. I believe the interplay between the OKTAV model and the Chubbuck Technique has a great potential in terms of working together, and that drama students has an appropriate level of interest in the field in addition to some experience with acting techniques that are suited for this research. In other words, what I aim to research in this thesis is:

"How does The Chubbuck Technique interplay with the OKTAV model as a pedagogical method for young adults?"

To answer this question I will first explain the relevant theoretical perspectives and terminology related to the Chubbuck Technique, the didactics of theatre, and the empirical method of my choosing. Then I will apply my prior knowledge as a theatre student and actor, and create a two-day workshop in the Chubbuck Technique, with the didactic structure of the OKTAV model. To confine the research to an appriopriate level for this thesis, the participants of the workshop will also be my informants in two focus group interviews to give their statements on the interplay between the OKTAV model and the Chubbuck technique. After transcribing the interviews and the following analysis, I will discuss my findings in light of the theorectical perspectives.
