Maihaugens museumsbønder En oppgave om museumsbøndenes formidling av autentisk matproduksjon

Abstract

I dag blir friluftsmuseet på Maihaugen driftet som en gård fra det gamle bondesamfunnet, uten tekniske hjelpemidler. I teksten undersøker jeg hva museumsbøndenes arbeid går ut på, og i hvilken grad de formidler autentisk matproduksjon ved Maihaugen. Museumsbøndene til Maihaugen står for en stor del av formidlingen til friluftsmuseet. De følger i stor grad arbeidsrytmen til det gamle bondesamfunnet. Ved å følge sesongene slik de gjorde i det gamle bondesamfunnet, vil publikum få et autentisk innblikk i hvordan en dyrket mat og drev gårdsbruk i Gudbrandsdalen før i tiden. Samtidig vil publikum sannsynligvis ikke få med seg hele prosessen rundt denne matproduksjonen, ettersom det ville krevd at de fulgte museumsbøndene kontinuerlig. Her blir museumsbøndenes rolle spesielt viktig ettersom de sitter på kunnskap rundt hele prosessen til matproduksjonen. Her vil bøndene etter for eksempel å ha sådd byggkorn på en åkerlapp på Maihaugen, ha mulighet til å forklare publikum prosessen videre rundt byggkornet, og hva det brukes til. En del av arbeidsbeskrivelsen til museumsbøndene er å imøtekomme og snakke med publikum, og de er opptatt av å formidle de positive sidene rund arbeidet deres. Her er spesielt fokus på økologisk mangfold og en bærekraftig utnyttelse av ressursene et viktig tema for bøndene. Formidlingen av autentisk matproduksjon foregår gjennom museumsbøndenes arbeid, og formidlingen til museumsbøndene finner sted gjennom hele året. Hva de formidler fra det gamle bondesamfunnet er styrt av sesongene.

The open-air museum on Maihaugen is operated as a farm based on old traditions without technical aids. In the text, I examine what the museum farmers' work entails, and to what extent they convey authentic food production at Maihaugen. The museum farmers at Maihaugen are responsible for a large part of the dissemination at the open-air museum. They largely follow the work rhythm of the old peasant society in Norway. By traditionally following the workflow of the seasons, the public will get an authentic insight into how people grew food and ran farms in Gudbrandsdalen in the past. However, the public will probably not get to see the whole process around this food production, as it would require them to follow the museum farmers continuously. Here, the role of museum farmers becomes especially important as they have knowledge of the entire process of traditional food production. After sowing barley grain on a plot of land on Maihaugen, the farmers will have the opportunity to explain to the public the process further around the barley grain, and what it is was used for. Part of the job description of the museum farmers is to meet and talk to the visitors, and they are keen to convey the positive aspects of their work. A special focus on ecological diversity and a sustainable utilization of resources is an important theme for the farmers. The dissemination of authentic food production takes place through the museum farmers' work, and the dissemination to the museum farmers takes place throughout the year. What they convey from the old farming community is governed by the seasons
