Kvinner i arbeidsliv og økonomi på Røros -En komparativ studie av årene 1865 og 1910

Abstract

Oppgaven tar utgangspunkt i folketellingene for Røros i 1865 og 1910 og sammenligner disse for å se hvordan kvinners rolle i arbeidsliv og økonomi utviklet seg i perioden. Oppgaven opererer med en kategorisering av sysselsetting og bruker denne for å sammenligne resultatene fra 1865 og 1910. Tallene og informasjonen fra folketellingene suppleres med informasjon fra annet materiale for å få et bredere perspektiv. For å finne ut hvordan kvinners rolle i arbeidsliv og økonomi endret seg mellom 1865 og 1910 på Røros studeres i tillegg forhold som er særegne for Røros, og geografiske forskjeller innad i Røros.

The thesis is based on information from the population census (folketelling) for Røros in 1865 and 1910, and compares these to see how women’s participation in labour and economy developed in the period. The thesis uses a categorization of employment to compare the results from 1865 and 1910. In addition to the numbers and information from the population census, the thesis also uses information from other source material to show a broader perspective. To find out how women’s participation in labour and economy changed between 1865 and 1910 in Røros, the thesis also studies factors that are distinctive for Røros, as well as geographical differences within Røros.
