A CFD (computational fluid dynamics) model has been developed in ANSYNS Fluent for studying the use of the nozzle reactor concept for fast HTL of biomass. A Newtonian system was first assumed to make it possible to utilize data in the literature for calibration, which was then followed by a non-Newtonian assumption to simulate flows containing biomass particles. This paper presents and analyses results from the study.en_US
