Abstract

Tittel: Sykepleiers relasjon med den ensomme eldre

Hensikt: Undersøke forekomsten av ensomhet i hjemmesykepleien og hvordan sykepleier kan bruke sin relasjon med pasienten i den hensikt å dekke sosiale behov og dempe ensomhet.

Problemstilling: Hvilken betydning har en relasjons styrke og innhold i møte mellom sykepleier og pasient i den hensikt å dempe ensomhet hos enslige eldre i hjemmetjenesten?

Metode: Litteraturstudie basert på ni forskningsartikler og relevant pensum- og faglitteratur.

Resultater: Mangel på en fortrolig person og tap av helse kan føre til ensomhet. Mange pasienter anser sykepleiere i hjemmetjenesten som fortrolige, men en trygg og tillitsfull relasjon må ligge til grunn. Psykososiale behov kan dekkes gjennom omsorg av høy kvalitet.

Konklusjon: Relasjon med sykepleier kan bidra med å dempe ensomhet, dersom en fokuserer på å skape en tillitsfull relasjon som også er med på å dekke pasientens sosiale behov.

Title: Nurse’s relationship with lonely elderly patients

Aim: Study the occurrence of loneliness in home care and how nurses can use their relationship to the patient for the purpose of fulfilling social needs and alleviate loneliness.

Research question: What significance does the strength and contents of the relationship have in the encounter between nurse and patient to alleviate loneliness in elderly people living alone and receiving home care?

Method: Literature study based on nine research articles and relevant syllabus and literature.

Results: Lack of a trustworthy person and loss of health can lead to loneliness. Many patients regard nurses in home care as trustworthy, but a safe and trusting relationship must be in place first. Psychosocial needs can be met through high quality care.

Conclusion: The relation with the nurse can help to alleviate loneliness if a focus is put on creating a trusting relation that is also meeting the social needs of the patient.
