Introduction: This study explores the impact of structural changes within the public health sector in relation to work health and satisfaction, and how these changes influence the quality of patient care and safety as perceived by health personnel. Furthermore, the study examines the significance of health personnels awareness of patients physical location and well-being, and the location of material equipment during structural changes Method: A survey was designed and conducted to investigate health personnels experience during structural changes within the public health sector. The survey was carried out in April 2019, and the analysis was performed using Excel. Result: The results suggest there is an increasing concern of patient safety and the quality of patient care during structural changes within the public health sector. Participants report a lack of overview and awareness of both patient status and material equipment during these structural changes. The results also show that occupational health of the health personnel was reduced during the same period. After the transition process is completed, the results are similar to what they were before the structural changes respectively. Conclusion: This study has found that perceived patient safety during a transitional process affect the work satisfaction and health of professionals. Furthermore, the study indicates that an adequate overview of patients and material equipment is required to ensure the patient safety. Still, there are questions that are unanswered:nb_NO
