Sammendrag
The aim of this masters thesis is to explore what socioeconomic traits determines patient satisfaction within the Norwegian healthcare system. To this day the research done on patient satisfaction in Norway has been scarce, it is important to gain insight in how patient satisfaction vary in between socioeconomic groups to further understand differences in use an health status. Using multiple logistic regression analysis this paper has explored what socioeconomic traits determines patient satisfaction. The main findings are that socioeconomic position affects perceived quality in the health care system and trust in treatment. Employment status, level of education, income and health status has an effect on patient satisfaction. Having poor health, lower education, lower income and poor self-evaluated health increases the odds for being unsatisfied with the health care system. The effects of socioeconomic position is stronger on the evaluation of the specialist health care compared to the primary health care.
