Musikk som våpen og torturmiddel på 2000-tallet

Abstract

I denne oppgaven settes det lys på hvordan musikk har blitt brukt som våpen og torturmiddel under den amerikanske offensiven i Afghanistan og Irak på 2000-tallet, som en del av det amerikanerne har kalt 'krigen mot terror'. Temaene som blir diskutert er bruken av tortur i den omtalte konflikten, hvordan høy lyd og musikk kan fungere som våpen, og hvilke reaksjoner handlingene har fått.

In this thesis, the use of music as a weapon and torture during the American offensive in Afghanistan and Iraq during the 2000s, as part of the so-called 'war on terror', will be discussed. The themes in the thesis will consist of the use of torture in this conflict, how loud noise and music may function as a weapon, and what reactions these actions may have garnered.
