VR-briller, 4. Digitalisering av noter, 5. Bruk av droner. The thesis is written in collaboration with Trondheim Symphony Orchestra and Opera as a final assignment at the 3-year Bachelor program of Logistics Engineering at NTNU Trondheim. The task is based on the issue "Which benefit can Trondheim Symphony Orchestra and Opera (TSO) gain from using digital methods?". The theme and issue were chosen in collaboration with the company.
In 2018, the consulting company InFuture published "Fremtidens kultur i et brukerperspektiv" at the request from the Ministry of Culture in connection with the annual report (Tepfers and Heineman 2018). In the report, Tepfers and Heineman take on a number of different trends where some of them are concerning digitization in the cultural sector. These trends are the basis for the theme and issue. The issue was solved by qualitative interviews, questionnaires and relevant theory.
Qualitative interviews were conducted of 5 employees in TSO and a survey among the employees. The purpose of the interviews was to identify various challenges in the company as well as information about various processes in the departments. The interviews were also used to gather information about which digital methods were already in use and what they would like to digitize.
The questionnaire was used as an indicator of what the employees in the company thougth about digitalization, how relevant it was for TSO and what they thought could be digitized.
There were proposed digital methods; streaming, use of drones, VR glasses, digitalization of notes and use of AR in app. There were discussed advantages and disadvantages of the various methods and critical success factors for each alternative. Based on this, the following priority was presented: 1. Streaming, 2. Use of AR in the app, 3. VR glasses, 4. Digitalization of notes, 5. Use of drones.
