Med nål og hår – En undersøkelse av det broderte portrettet av Christian Frederiks kunstneriske status

Abstract

Denne bacheloroppgaven omhandler det broderte portrett av Christian Frederik som finnes i Nordenfjeldske Kunstindustrimuseum sin samling og hva slags kunstnerisk status dette verket kan ha hatt da det ble laget. Temaer som blant annet blir tatt opp er hårarbeider i Norge, Norges kunstforhold på begynnelsen av 1800-tallet og hvordan det påvirker hva som kan klassifiseres som kunst i Norge i den perioden, og broderiets kunstneriske status.

This bachelor thesis will examine the embroidered portrait of Christian Frederik which is a part of the collection in the National Museum of Decorative Arts in Trondheim and the artistic status the work might have had when it was made. Topics that will be included are hairworks in Norway, conditions for art in Norway at the beginning of the 19th century and how it affects what can be classified as art in Norway in that time period, and embroidery’s artistic status.
