Abstract

I denne bacheloroppgaven skal jeg forsøke å synligjøre bruken av time and timing i film. Problemstillingen min er å se på konsekvensene for filmen disse filmteknikkene innenfor time and timing har, og se på effektene av disse på seerens følelser. Jeg syns det er spesielt interessant å trekke disse virkemidlene, som ikke er så enkelt å legge merke til når man ser film, fram og diskutere de. Sentrale punkt som blir nevnt i oppgaven er slike som hvordan time and timing bidrar med å fortelle historien, hvorfor det påvirker oss slik den gjør og hvordan å kjenne igjen slike aspekter ved filmer.

In this Thesis, I am going to try to illuminate the usage of time and timing in film. My thesis question is to look at the consequences cinematic techniques within time and time has to the film, and to look at the effect these techniques has on the audience’s emotions. I think it is especially interesting to pull these measures, which one might not notice when watching a film, into the light and discuss them. Central points within this thesis are how time and timing assists the telling of the narrative, how it affects us the way it does and how to recognise these aspects in films.
