This study talks about how innovation started to gain the attention in Ålesund region with the help of MIT REAP program by Massachusetts Institute of Technology and its purpose is to help promote the social progress with the help of innovation-driven entrepreneurships. MIT REAP program helps the entrepreneurs with the help of their unique course program which is to make the upcoming startups familiar with the Disciplined Entrepreneurship (DE) model, a book written by Bill Aulet, Managing Director of Martine Trust Center at MIT. The focus of this study is to gather the data regarding the progress of the DE model in Norwegian startups located in Ålesund, Møre og Romsdal region of Norway. The second main focus of this study is to analyze the DE model with respect to other previously presented entrepreneurship models, such as Business Model Generation by Alexander Osterwalder and the Lean Startup by Eric Ries. The study has an in-depth analysis of the three models with the literature showing the similarities and some dissimilarities among the three models. The data retrieved from the startups gave insights about the DE model, about how Norwegians are perceiving and dealing with it in a different culture / context.
