dc.description.abstract | Traditionally, a ship design is evaluated based on how it performs in idealized conditions. This approach fails to capture the complete spectrum of real-life operating conditions, as the seas are seldom calm. This thesis presents a simulation based method for evaluation of early stage ship designs. By creating realistic environmental conditions, and evaluating how the vessel performs under these conditions, the thesis aims to improve the accuracy of ship design evaluation. | |
