dc.description.abstract | The thesis consider management of safety instrumented systems/functions during the operational lifetime of the systems/functions. The location consider installations on the Norwegian continental shelf. The thesis suggest a framework for monitoring the variability of safety performance when maintenance is performed. The thesis identified the need to monitor this variability by performing a review on investigations performed by Petroleum Safety Authority Norway. The framework that was presented, if applied correctly would suggest, not to perform the specific maintenance activities, that resulted in lack of redundancy within the system, hence the accident may have been avoided. | nb_NO |
