dc.description.abstractThis report is written for JBV (Norwegian Railway Administration). The motivation for this topic arose from deteriorating electric power converter station. The impact of failure is in terms of train cancelations and delays. The regularity and punctuality models are developed to estimate cost of failure. A phased mission Markov reliability modeling technique is developed which can model separate Markov chains as a continuous solution. The model is flexible and is further integrated with regularity and punctuality models such that cost of being in a state can be calculated. In addition developed models can be used as input to maintenance optimization models. Finally a model for prioritizing of maintenance and renewal projects is discussed.nb_NO
