Multilateral technology has become a widespread well solution, providing several advantages in terms of exploiting both equipment and reservoirs to the utmost. Having multilateral wells allows marginal formations to be produced which otherwise could not have been economically completed. A present oil producing well in the Smørbukk Sør structure at the Åsgard field operated by Statoil, is now planned to be developed to a dual-lateral well; P-1 AH/BH. The present producing interval is going to be plugged due to low hydrocarbon production and high water cut. Two new horizontal wellbores are planned to run in two different reservoirs, having the main bore in Garn and the lateral in Ile. The target reservoirs differ in terms of reservoir properties and sand production potential. Considering best practice in the reservoirs, together with using NETool simulations, downhole completion solutions for well P-1 AH/BH have been evaluated. The recommended solution consists of completing both the wellbores with stand-alone-screens combined with channel-based inflow control devices and swell packers.nb_NO
