Sammendrag
NORSK: Introduksjon: Forskning viser at barn som pårørende er utsatt for høyt psykososialt stress og at nivået på stress øker med kreftens alvorlighetsgrad.
Hensikt: Hensikten med oppgaven var å innhente kunnskaper om hvilke behov barn har, og hvordan sykepleier kan tilrettelegge for mestring når forelderen er kreftsyk og i palliativ fase. Det var også ønskelig å understreke betydningen av å ivareta denne gruppen.
Metode: Oppgaven er en systematisk litteraturstudie basert på funn i syv forskningsartikler. Søkeord: «child as relatives», «children», «next of kind», «parental cancer», «parent», «parent’s cancer», «palliative phase», «advanced cancer», «incurable cancer», «communication», «information», «nursing», «care», «cancer» og «coping».
Resultat: Funn viser at barns mestringsevne hadde sammenheng med informasjon til barna, åpen kommunikasjon, sosiale relasjoner og barns delaktighet rundt sykdomsprosessen. At sykepleier veiledet foreldrene var også betydningfullt.
Konklusjon: Ut i fra dette kan sykepleier styrke barns opplevelse av sammenheng ved å gjøre barns situasjon forståelig, håndterbar og meningsfull. ENGLISH: Introduction: Research shows that children as relatives are exposed to high psychosocial stress and it increases with the severity of the cancer.
Purpose: The purpose of the study is to obtain knowledge about children needs, how nursing can facilitate coping when the parent has cancer in the palliative phase, and demonstrate the importance of safeguarding this group.
Method: The thesis is a systematic literature review based on findings in seven research papers. Keyword: "child as relatives", "children", "next of kind", "parental cancer", "parent", "parent 's cancer" "palliative phase", "advanced cancer", "incurable cancer", "communication", "information", "nursing", "care", "cancer" and "coping".
Results: Findings show that children's coping ability was related to information, open communication, social relationships and children's participation around the disease. Nurse supervising the parents, were also significant.
Conclusion: From this, the nurse has the opportunity to enlarge children's sense of coherence by making children's situation comprehensible, managable and meaningful
