Abstract

Sammendrag Problemstilling: Hvilken påvirkning har dyreassistert intervensjon for barn og ungdom med autisme Introduksjon/bakgrunn: Bruken og interessen av dyreassistert intervensjon (DAI) har økt de siste årene og det er derfor jeg ville se på hvilken påvirkning DAI kan ha på barn og ungdom med autisme, og på grunn av min bakgrunn har det blusset opp interesse for hvordan dyr kan hjelpe yrkesutøvere i helse- og sosialsektoren med deres arbeid med mennesker Hensikt: Finne ut hvilken påvirkning DAI har på barn og ungdom med autisme, og øke min egen kunnskap om bruken av hund og hest i DAI Metode: Denne oppgaven er en litteraturstudiet som bruker fagfellevurderte artikler og relevant litteratur for å besvare problemstillingen Resultat: Det var flere positive effekter ved bruk av DAI med barn og ungdom med autisme, økt selvregulering, økt deltakelse i samfunnet, økte barnets selvtillit, forskyndet relasjonsoppbyggingen mellom terapeut og barn, forbedring i eksekutiv fungering og mild effekt på motoriske ferdigheter. Utfordringer knyttet til DAI var tilrettelegging for dyrets velvære og splittet fokus under dyreassistert terapi økter. Konklusjon: DAI hadde positive påvirkning på barn og ungdom med autisme spesielt innenfor sosial fungering og ferdigheter, og noen utfordringer som tilrettelegging for dyrets velvære. Summary Issue: What impact does animal-assisted intervention have on children and young people with autism Introduction/background: The use and interest in animal-assisted intervention (AAI) has increased in recent years and that is why I wanted to look at the impact AAI can have on children and young people with autism, and because of my background, interest has flared up in how animals can help professionals in the health and social care sector with their work with people Purpose: Find out what effect AAI has on children and young people with autism, and increase my own knowledge about the use of dogs and horses in AAI Method: This thesis is a literature study that uses peer-reviewed articles and relevant literature to answer the problem Result: There were several positive effects when using AAI with children and young people with autism, increased self-regulation, increased participation in society, increased the child's self-confidence, accelerated relationship building between therapist and child, improvement in executive functioning and mild effect on motor skills. Challenges related to AAI were facilitation for the animal's well-being and split focus during animal assisted therapy sessions. Conclusion: AAI had a positive impact on children and young people with autism, especially within social functioning and skills, and some challenges such as facilitating the animal's well-being.
