Ergoterapeuters kompetanse i møte med personer med spiseforstyrrelser
Abstract
Introduction: Eating disorders is a complex and challenging condition that can have various impacts on individuals' quality of life. Research shows the importance of interdisciplinary team in the treatment of individuals with eating disorders. Occupational therapists have competence that enables individuals to live a meaningful life as possible. However, the role of the occupational therapists in this context remains underexplored.

Research question: How can the competence of occuptional therapists be used in the treatment of patients with eating disorders?
Method: Literature review analyzing eight qualitative research articles selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria.
Results: The results highlight various factors that may influence the treatment process for individuals with eating disorders. These factors can be linked to occupational therapists' competence in the interaction between the person, activity and environment.
Conclusion: There are limited research addressing how an occupational therapist can work in the treatment of indivduals with eating disorders, but the research allows us to gain insight into the factors that influence a recovery process. This study demonstrates how these factors can be related to the competence of occupational therapists and how occupational therapists can contribute to a treatment process. But, there is a need for more knowledge in this field.
