Kommunale ergoterapeuters kjernekompetanse i arbeidet med universell utforming - en taus kunnskap?

Abstract

Innledning: Universell utforming er skapt slik at alle kan benytte seg av samfunnet og omgivelsene skal bygges slik at alle kan oppholde seg der. Tidligere forskning på temaet om ergoterapeuters kjernekompetanse og universell utforming er svært begrenset. Kunnskapshullet er å finne ut om hvordan ergoterapeuter kan bruke sin kjernekompetanse i arbeidet med universell utforming.

Hensikt: Hensikten med studien er å finne ut hvordan kommunale ergoterapeuter jobber med universell utforming og kjernekompetansen. Ut ifra denne informasjonen, vil det bli lagt hovedfokus på hvordan ergoterapeuter jobber på dette feltet i kommunen, og hva deres erfaringer og refleksjoner fra praksisfeltet er.

Problemstilling: Hvordan anvender kommunale ergoterapeuter sin kjernekompetanse for å fremme universell utforming?

Metode: Metoden er en kvalitativ metode. Det er gjennomført tre individuelle intervjuer. Informantene er kommune ergoterapeuter som har arbeidet eller som arbeider med universell utforming.

Resultat: Resultatet er delt inn i 2 hovedtemaer. Den ene delen av resultatet viser ulike sider ved universell utforming. Det er viktig at vi ergoterapeuter jobber med universell utforming, det tar tid å endre folks tanker og at universell utforming i dagens samfunn går langsomt. Den andre delen er ergoterapeuters kjernekompetanse, kjernekompetansen er taus kunnskap som ligger i bakhodet.

Konklusjon: Studiens resultat viser at ergoterapeuter som jobber med uu, bruker kjernekompetansen i sitt arbeid. Det er ikke alltid bevisst, men de har det i “bakhodet”. Kjernekompetansen er ikke på bygg, og de er avhengig av å ha med andre type fagpersonell. Uu går ut på at alle skal kunne delta i samfunnet, men det går sakte fremover. Det har skjedd mye med uu de siste årene, men det tar lang tid å endre personers tanker. En felles kartlegging finnes ikke, som kan hjelpe ergoterapeuter til å fremheve sin kjernekompetanse i sitt arbeid med uu.

Introduction: Universal design is created so that everyone can make use of society and the surroundings must be built so that everyone can stay there. Previous research on the topic of occupational therapists' core concept and universal design is very limited. The knowledge gap is to find out how occupational therapists can use their core concept in the work with universal design.

Objective: The purpose of the study is to find out how municipal occupational therapists work with universal design and the core concept. Based on this information, the main focus will be on how occupational therapists work in this field in the municipality, and what their experiences and reflections from the field of practice are.

Problem: How do municipal occupational therapists apply their core concept to promote universal design?

Method: The method is a qualitative method. Three individual interviews have been conducted. The informants are municipal occupational therapists who have worked or who works with universal design.

Result: The result is divided into 2 main themes. One part of the result shows different aspects of accessibility. It is important that we occupational therapists work with accessibility, it takes time to change people's thoughts and that accessibility in today's society is slow. The second part is the occupational therapists' core concept, the core concept is silence knowledge that lies in the back of their minds.

Conclusion: The results of the study show that occupational therapists who work with UU use the core concept in their work. It is not always conscious, but they have it in the "back of their minds". The core concept is not on construction, and they are dependent on having other types of professional personnel on board. The idea is that everyone should be able to participate in society, but progress is slow. A lot has happened with UU in recent years, but it takes a long time to change people's thoughts. There is no joint survey that can help occupational therapists to highlight their core concept in their work with UU.
