Hvordan kan en sykepleier bruke kommunikasjon til å oppnå en god relasjon til pasienter med diagnosen schizofreni?

Abstract

Bakgrunn I de fleste land om i verden forekommer schizofreni hos 0,5-1 prosent av befolkningen. Et dilemma man kan se i møte med mennesker med psykiske lidelser er at de har vanskeligheter for å skape og opprettholde relasjoner. Pasienter med schizofreni kan være svært forvirret, og deres kognitive funksjon er svekket og kommunikasjonsferdighetene ikke alltid er på plass, eller forståelsen av dialoger.

Hensikt Hensikten med studien er å belyse hvordan sykepleier kan bruke kommunikasjon i møte med pasienter med schizofreni, for å oppnå en god relasjon.

Metode Litteraturstudiet basert på 7 forskningsartikler. Cinahl Complete og Medline ble brukt i databasesøkene og søkeordene var: Psychiatric patients, Communication, Nurse-patient-relations Schizofrenia, Therapautic relationship.

Resultat Mine funn viser at sykepleiere og pasienter syntes til tider det var krevende med å kommunisere sammen, og at relasjonene var avgjørende for å få progresjon i arbeidet. Analyseprosessen nevnes med tre temaer: Kommunikasjon og kommunikasjonsferdigheter, relasjonens betydning og se mennesket.

Konklusjon Man kan se hvor viktig kommunikasjon og kommunikasjonsferdigheter er i møte med psykiske syke pasienter, henholdsvis i dette studiet schizofreni pasienter. Studiets problemstilling og artikler kommer frem til at det er flere punkter som er viktig i forhold til kommunikasjon i møte med denne pasientgruppen. Det kom frem i studiet at opplæring, kunnskap og ferdigheter må satses på, at sykepleierne må anerkjenne og forsøke å skape god og trygg relasjon med brukergruppen og at tid, ressurser og holdninger må bli bedre i møte med pasientgruppen. Sykepleiere må ha et ønske om å skape trygge og gode relasjoner til pasienter med schizofreni, deriblant det å lytte, vise respekt, vise empati, verbal og nonverbal kommunikasjon er vesentlige faktorer.

Background In most countries around the world, schizophrenia occurs in 0.5-1 percent of the population. A dilemma that can be seen when dealing with people with mental disorders is that they have difficulties in creating and maintaining relationships during treatment. Patients with schizophrenia are sometimes very confused, and their cognitive function is impaired and their communication skills are not always in place, or their understanding of dialogues.

Purpose The purpose of the study is to shed light on how nurses can use communication when dealing with patients with schizophrenia, in order to achieve a good relationship.

Method This literature study based on 7 research articles. Cinahl Complete and Medline were used in the database searches and the search terms were: Psychiatric patients, Communication, Nurse-patient-relations, schizophrenia and therapeutic relationship.

Result My findings show that nurses and patients sometimes found it difficult to communicate together, and that the relationships were crucial to making progress in the work. The analysis process is mentioned with three themes: Communication and communication skills, the importance of the relationship and seeing the person.

Conclusion The study enlightens how important communication and communication skills are when dealing with mentally ill patients, respectively in this study schizophrenia patients. The study's problem and articles conclude that there are several points that are important in relation to communication when dealing with this patient group. It emerged in the study that training, knowledge and skills must be invested in, that the nurses must recognize and try to create a good and safe relationship with the user group and that time, resources and attitudes must be improved when dealing with the patient group. Nurses must have a desire to create safe and good relationships with patients with schizophrenia, including listening, showing respect, showing empathy, verbal and non-verbal communication are essential factors.
