Kvinners sysselsetting og arbeid i bygdesamfunnet Ålen - En komparativ studie av folketellingene 1875 og 1910

Abstract

Oppgaven analyserer kvinners sysselsetting og arbeid i bygdesamfunnet Ålen, ved å sammenligne opplysninger fra folketellingene i 1875 og 1910. Oppgaven inndeler kvinners sysselsetting i seks kategorier, og bruker dette som sammenligningsgrunnlag mellom de to nevnte folketellingene. Videre analyserer oppgaven enker, ugifte og gifte kvinners likheter og ulikheter i sysselsetting, og hvordan dette endret seg mellom 1875 og 1910. Oppgaven sammenligner også, med bakgrunn i geografisk beliggenhet, kvinners arbeid og sysselsetting i fjellbygda Ålen med bergstaden Røros i tidsperioden. Dette for å poengtere likheter og ulikheter mellom de to samfunnene.

The thesis analyzes women´s employment and work and in the rural community of Ålen, by comparing information from the population censuses of 1875 and 1910. The thesis divides women´s employment into six categories and uses this as a basis of comparison between the two mentioned population censuses. Furthermore, the thesis analyzes the similarities and differences in employment among widows, unmarried and married women, and how this changed between 1875 and 1910.The thesis also compares, based on geographical location, women´s work and employment in the mountain village of Ålen and the mining town of Røros in the mentioned time period. This to emphasize similarities and differences between the two communities.
