Hvordan kan telemedisin påvirke sykepleierens funksjon i oppfølging av diabetiske fotsår i hjemmetjenesten?

Abstract

Bakgrunn: Diabetiske fotsår er en komplikasjon som følge av diabetes mellitus. Sykepleieren må ha kompetanse knyttet til sårpleie, observasjon og dokumentasjon relatert til dette. Likevel opplever flere pasienter svikt i behandlingen grunnet helsepersonellets manglende ferdigheter og organiseringen av helsetjenestene. I de siste årene har telemedisin blitt brukt for å støtte sykepleier med oppfølging av diabetiske fotsår, samt styrke kommunikasjonen og samhandling mellom helsesektorene. Hensikt: Hensikten med denne litteraturstudien er å utforske og belyse hvordan implementering av telemedisin kan påvirke sykepleiere i oppfølgingen av diabetiske fotsår i hjemmetjenesten.

Metode: Bacheloroppgaven vår er en litteraturstudie som inkluderer åtte forskningsartikler. Artiklene ble funnet ved hjelp av systematiske søk i to databaser. Annen relevant forskning, faglitteratur og pensum er blitt inkludert.

Resultat: Resultatene ble samlet inn og analysert, og deretter delt inn i fire hovedtemaer: kompetansen blant helsepersonell, kommunikasjon, pasientutfall og utfordringer.

Konklusjon: Telemedisin bidra til utøvelsen av sykepleie i hjemmetjenesten hvis god planlegging, opplæring og ressurser legges til rette før utprøving i praksis. Utfordringer rundt implementeringen kan være ekstra arbeidsbelastning, omorganisering og nye tilpasninger.

Background: Diabetic foot ulcers are a complication of diabetes mellitus. The nurse must have competence in wound care, observation and documentation related to these ulcers. Even so, patients experience neglect in the treatment due to the inadequate skills of health professionals and the organization of health services. In recent years, telemedicine has been implemented to support nurses in their follow-up of diabetic foot ulcers and to strengthen the communication and interaction between the health sectors. Aim of study: The aim of this literature study is to explore and illuminate how the implementation of telemedicine can affect nurses in the follow-up care of diabetic foot ulcers in home-based care.

Method: This bachelor assignment is a literature study which includes eight research articles. The articles were found using a systematic search in two databases. Additional relevant research, literature and the syllabus have been included. Results: The results were collected, analyzed and then divided into four main themes: the competence of healthcare professionals, communication, patient outcomes and challenges.

Conclusion: Telemedicine can contribute to the practice of nursing in home care if good planning, traning and resources are put in place before testing it in practice. Challenges surrounding the implementation can be additional workload, reorganization and new adaptions.
