Familien Steinfeld

Abstract

Denne oppgaven tar for seg historien om hvordan de lokale jødenes skjebne var under andre verdenskrig i Ålesund og hvordan de har blitt behandlet i Ålesund i den lange etterkrigstiden. Oppgaven vil spesialisere seg på hvordan det var å være jøde i Ålesund, og hvordan angrepet mot Ålesund var under krigen. Det vil også bli sett på hvordan jøder i dag blir erindret ved hjelp av blant annet snublesteiner. Familien Steinfeld, den eneste jødisk familien i Ålesund, vil bli brukt som eksempel i oppgaven. Videre vil det bli sett på Norge i etterkrigstiden og hvordan behandlingen av jødene var i denne perioden.

This thesis discusses how the history of the local Jews destiny were under the second world war in Aalesund and how this have been treated in Aalesund in the following years after second world war. The thesis will specialize itself on how it was to be a Jew in Aalesund, and how the attack towards Aalesund was under the war. It will also be focused on how jews today is being remembered by for example looking at stolperstein. The Steinfeld family, the only jewish family in Aalesund, will be used as an example in the thesis. The thesis conclusion aims to discuss how Norway in the postwar of the second world war was, and how the treatment of the jews have been in this period.
