Differensialtelling av leukocytter med ABX Pentra XL 80

Abstract

Denne bacheloroppgaven omhandler produksjon av en bildeprosedyre angående utførelsen av 5-differensialtelling på ABX Pentra XL 80 produsert av Horiba Medical. Kjernen i oppgaven var å produsere en bildeprosedyre som visualiserer trinnene i denne analysen som skal benyttes av fremtidige studenter som et hjelpemiddel i laboratorieøvelser med instrumentet. For å øke brukervennligheten til bildeprosedyren, ble den gjennomgått av medstudenter som hadde ingen eller liten kunnskap om instrumentet. Det ble også skrevet en teoridel lagt ved bildeprosedyren med bakgrunnsinformasjon angående blodceller og ABX Pentra XL 80. Teoridelen som beskrev ABX Pentra XL 80 inneholder både utseende/oppsett, unike teknologier eid av Horiba Medical og ulike analyseprinsippene som instrumentet benytter. Ettersom det var lite informasjon om analyseprinsippene spesifikt for instrumentet, ble det tatt kontakt med Horiba Medical og leverandøren TrioLab for oppklaring og veiledning rundt dette. I tillegg til denne prosedyren skulle det også lages en enkel spørreundersøkelse som skal kartlegge studentenes forventninger og nyttigheten av en bildeprosedyre i forkant av laboratorieøvelsene, og oppgaver til teoridelen for å bidra til økt læring hos studentene.

This bachelor's thesis deals with the production of a procedure containing images regarding the performance of 5-part differential count on the ABX Pentra XL 80 produced by Horiba Medical. The core of the task was to produce a figure-based instruction manual that visualizes the steps in this analysis to be used by future students as an aid in laboratory exercises with the instrument. To enhance the usability of the figure-based instruction manual, it was reviewed by fellow students with little to no knowledge of the instrument. A theory section was also attached to the procedure with background information regarding blood cells and the ABX Pentra XL 80. The theory section that described the Pentra XL 80 contains both appearance/setup, unique technologies owned by Horiba Medical and the various analysis principles that the instrument uses. As there was limited information regarding the analysis principles specific to the instrument, contact was made with Horiba Medical and the supplier TrioLab for clarification and guidance on this matter. In addition to this figure-based instruction manual, a simple survey was produced to map the students' expectations and the usefulness of the instruction manual in advance of the laboratory exercises, along with tasks for the theoretical part to contribute to increased learning among the students.
