Abstract

Tittel: Hvordan påvirker kommunikasjon brukermedvirkningen hos personer med demens?

Introduksjon/ bakgrunn: Temaet kommunikasjon er det viktigste temaet man møter i arbeid med mennesker. I arbeid med personer med demens, kommunikasjon er hoved oppgave for helsepersonell, og hvordan de kommunisere kan påvirker brukermedvirkning hos tjenestemottakere. Ut ifra mine arbeidserfaringer og praksis, kjente jeg betydningen av bruk av riktig kommunikasjonsmåte med personer med demens og hvordan vi som hjelpere kan bruke en tilpasset kommunikasjon for å sikre brukermedvirkning hos brukere eller pasienter. Derfor tok jeg dette temaet her for å belyse påvirkningen av kommunikasjon i brukermedvirkning.

Hensikt: Hensikt med oppgaven er å belyse hvordan kan kommunikasjon påvirker brukermedvirkningen hos personer med demens.

Metode: Denne oppgaven benytter seg av metoden litteraturstudie, og bruker fem ulike forskningsartikler. Samt annen relevant litteratur for å belyse problemstillingen.

Resultat: Utvalgte artikler i oppgaven hadde funn om kommunikasjonsmetoder og utfordringer man møter i arbeid med demens. Resultatene i artiklene ble grunnlaget i fem tema diskutert i oppgaven; etiske utfordringen i demensomsorgen, demens og kommunikasjon, demens og brukermedvirkning.

Konklusjon: Ut ifra teorien og litteraturstudien som ble basert på de fem valgte artiklene, så var det en klar og tydelig enighet om at riktig bruk av kommunikasjon påvirker brukermedvirkning hos personer med demens på en positiv måte. Dette ble reflektert flere ganger med at de studiene som var vellykket med bruk av riktig kommunikasjon og medvirkning, ga positive resultater. De som ikke var vellykket med å gjennomføre det, var også enige om at kommunikasjonen gir en positiv påvirkning, men det er andre faktorer som må tas hensyn til i tillegg. Faktorer som også må tas hensyn til er at for å kunne gjennomføre slike studier eller kunne praktisere riktig kommunikasjon, så må det tas hensyn til at det er andre faktorer som blant annet tid, faglig autonomi og klinisk vurdering som kan påvirke en smidig gjennomføring. Samtidig, så kan familier og andre mennesker i livet til personer med demens også påvirke prosessen til gjennomføringen av dette.

Title: How does communication affect user participation in people with dementia?

Introduction / background: The theme of communication is the most important theme you encounter in working with people. In work with people with dementia, communication is the main task for health professionals, and how they communicate can affect user participation among service recipients. Based on my work experience and practice, I knew the importance of using the right way of communication with people with people and how we as helpers can use a customized communication to ensure user participation in users or patients. Therefore, I took this topic here to illuminate the impact of communication in user participation.

Purpose: The purpose of the thesis is to shed light on how communication affects user participation in people with dementia.

Method: This thesis uses the method literature study, and uses five different research articles. As well as other relevant literature to shed light on the problem.

Result: Selected articles in the thesis had findings about communication methods and challenges encountered in work with dementia. The results in the articles were the basis of five topics discussed in the thesis; ethical challenges in dementia care, dementia and communication, dementia and user participation.

Conclusion: Based on the theory and literature study that was based on the five selected articles, there was a clear and distinct agreement that the correct use of communication affects the user effect in people with dementia in a positive way. This was reflected several times in the fact that the studies that were successful with the use of the right communication and participation, gave positive results. Those who were not successful in implementing it were also the only ones that communication has a positive impact, but there are other factors that must be taken into account as well. Factors that must also be taken into account are that in order to be able to carry out such studies or to be able to practice correct communication, it must be taken into account that there are other factors such as time, professional autonomy and clinical assessment that can be influenced and smooth implementation. At the same time, family and other people in life with dementia can also influence the process of implementing this.
