Sammendrag
Cognitive emotion regulation (CER) strategies and motives for activities have been linked with greater well-being, particularly psychological well-being. This thesis attempts to build upon earlier findings on reappraisal and planning by examining their combined effect with motives for activities on psychological well-being. 116 participants, Mage = 29.41, SD = 11.86, 61 % female, filled out questionnaires measuring CER strategies, motives for activities, and psychological well-being. The results of the study are both consistent and inconsistent with established research, notably reappraisal lacking a significant ability to predict psychological well-being. Moderation analyses were performed for all combinations of the chosen CER strategies and motives for activities without significant results. Motives for activities does not moderate the relation between CER strategies and psychological well-being.
