Validering av et nytt måleinstrument: romantisk avvisning for single

Abstract

Flere mål knyttet til romantisk søking, romantisk aksept og romantisk avvisning ble utviklet gjennom act nomination prosedyren. Denne oppgaven tok for seg målet på romantisk avvisning for single. Målet ble forsøkt validert med utgangspunkt i 6 forhandsregistrerte hypoteser. Det viste høy intern konsistens og sto i samsvar med mye av tidligere forskning på romantisk avvisning. På grunn av mangel på etablerte mål på romantisk avvisning, var ingen av de inkluderte kriteriene tilstrekkelige til å fastslå målets validitet. 2 av hypotesene ble avkreftet av analysene. Hypotesene som ikke fikk støtte i dataen, kan delvis bortforklares av blant annet begrenset datamateriale. Samtidig var det noen funn som var truende for validiteten til måleinstrumentet. Generelt sett viste målet på romantisk avvisning for single lovende validitet, men videre studier på instrumentet burde fortsette valideringsprosessen ved å se på eventuelle endringer presentert i oppgaven.

Several instruments related to romantic seeking, romantic acceptance and romantic rejection were developed using the act nomination procedure. This assignment addressed the instrument of romantic rejection for people outside of a committed relationship. An attempt was made to validate the questionnaire based on 6 pre-registered hypotheses. It showed high internal consistency and was in line with most previous research related to romantic rejection. Due to the lack of established instruments of romantic rejection, none of the included criteria were sufficient to conclusively establish its validity. 2 of the hypotheses were rejected by the analyses. Hypotheses that were not supported in the data can be partly explained away by, among other things, limited statistical power. At the same time, there were some findings that threatened the validity of the instrument, that cannot be easily explained away. In general, the instrument for measuring romantic rejection showed promising validity, but further studies on the instrument should continue the validation procedure by looking at the changes presented in the thesis.
