dc.description.abstractBakgrunn: I akuttmottak ses det en økt forekomst av pasienter med et problematisk rusmiddelbruk. Disse pasientene har økt risiko for å utvikle sykdommer og lidelser, og skader som følge av sitt rusmiddelbruk. Sykepleieren har en viktig helsefremmende funksjon, og har blant annet som mål å motivere pasienter til en helsefremmende atferd. Hensikt: Hensikten med denne litteraturstudien er å finne frem til relevant forskning som belyser hvordan motiverende samtaler i akuttmottak kan bidra i helsefremmende sykepleie til pasienter med et problematisk rusmiddelbruk. Metode: En litteraturstudie ble gjort for å finne frem til relevant forskning med relevans til problemstillingen. En tematisk analyse ble gjort for å finne frem til funn i valgte artikler. Resultat: Tre av artiklene viser frem positive, helsefremmende endringer hos pasientene. Likevel ser man lite til ingen endringer hos pasientgruppen i de to siste artiklene. Ved bruk av tematisk analyse ble 4 gjentagende temaer identifisert og drøftet. Konklusjon: Motiverende samtale kan bidra i helsefremmende sykepleie til pasienter med et problematisk rusbruk. Dette avhenger imidlertid av rusmiddelbrukens omfang og alvorlighetsgrad.
dc.description.abstractBackground: Emergency Departments have a visible increase in admissions of patients presenting with problematic substance abuse. These patients have increased risk of developing various diseases, disorders and occurrence of injuries. Nurses play an important role in health promotion and motivation resulting in behavioural change in favor of the individual’s overall health. Purpose: The aim of this literature review was to identify research with the ability to clarify whether or not Motivational interviewing could contribute to health promoting nurse practice, regarding patients with problematic substance abuse. Methods: A literature review was conducted to identify research with relevance to the main issue of this study. A thematic analysis was carried out to identify main themes in the study. Results: Three of the five studies presents health promoting changes in the patients. The last two however, presents minimal changes in the patients substance use. The thematic analysis resulted in the finding of four recurring main themes. Conclusion: Motivational interview have the ability to contribute in health promoting nurse practise. However, the extent and severity of the patient’s substance abuse, is of importance.
