Hvorfor er noen narkotiske stoffer bedre enn andre?

Abstract

I verden finnes det en mengde ulike narkotiske stoffer, slik som for eksempel cannabis, amfetaminer, opiater og kokain. Våren 2021 var en rusreform oppe til behandling i Stortinget, men denne ble nedstemt. Innholdet i denne Rusreformen dreide seg om hvordan man skulle håndtere bruk, salg, kjøp, besittelse av narkotika. De fleste partiene på Stortinget var imot den foreslåtte rusreformen, fordi de var redde for at det skulle åpne opp for at flere ungdommer vil starte å bruke narkotiske stoffer, og at dette igjen skulle starte en trend som kunne føre til økt forbruk og flere rusavhengige. For å kunne sette seg inn i denne formen for argumentasjon er det viktig å ha utdypende kunnskap om virkningen av de ulike narkotiske stoffene. Med bakgrunn i det foranstående vil det i denne oppgaven bli gått i dybden på to av de mest brukte narkotiske stoffene i Norge, marihuana og metamfetamin. Disse blir kvalifisert som henholdsvis «soft» og «harde» rusmidler. De kjemiske egenskapene til begge stoffene vil bli presentert, og det vil bli forklart hvordan de virker i kroppen, samt hvordan de blir skilt ut. Når man sammenlignet disse to stoffene viste det seg at marihuana kom bedre ut en metamfetamin, men marihuana kan være helsefarlig.. Dette er fordi det psykoaktive stoffet i marihuana, THC, kan bli metabolisert til forbindelser uten psykoaktive effekter. I tillegg medfører bruk av marihuana mindre risiko for celledød enn ved bruk av metamfetamin.

There are a number of different narcotic drugs in the world, such as cannabis, amphetamines, opiates and cocaine. In the spring of 2021 a drug reform was up for consideration in the parliament, but this was voted down. The content of this drug reform was about how to deal with the use, sale, purchase and possession of drugs. Most parties in the parliament were against the proposed drug reform, because they were afraid that it would open up for more young people to start using drugs, and that this in turn would start a trend that could lead to increased consumption and more drug addicts. In order to be able to understand this form for argumentation, it is important to have in-depth knowledge of the effects of the various narcotic drugs. Based on the above, this thesis will go into depth on two of the most commonly used narcotics in Norway, marijuana and methamphetamine. These are qualified as "soft" and "hard" drugs, respectively. The chemical properties of both substances will be presented, and it will be explained how they work in the body, as well as how they are excreted. When comparing these two drugs, it turned out that marijuana came out better than methamohetamine, but marijuana can be dangerous to health. This is because the psychoactive substance in marijuana, THC, can be metabolized to compounds without psychoactive effects. In addition, marijuana use carries a lower risk of cell death than methamphetamine use.
