Digital tilleggsressurs i histopatologi

Abstract

I bioingeniørutdanningen er en viktig del av histopatologifaget å lære seg å vurdere kvaliteten av vevspreparater. Mengdetreningen som kreves kan oppnås ved å benytte en digital tilleggsressurs, som er tilgjengelig for studentene utenom undervisningen. Formålet med bacheloroppgaven var å lage en nettside for histopatologi, tilhørende nettsiden «Opplæringsressurs IBF».

Nettsiden ble videreutviklet i WordPress til å inneholde fagfeltet histopatologi. Nettsiden ble utformet med relevant teori og interaktivt innhold. H5P-innhold på nettsiden ble satt inn i WordPress ved hjelp av en H5P-plugin. Illustrerende vevspreparat brukt i nettsiden ble farget og fotografert i studentlaboratoriet til Institutt for bioingeniørfag. Nettsiden ble prøvd ut av tredjeårsstudenter ved instituttet, og tilbakemeldingene ble gitt i en spørreundersøkelse.

Vi har i denne oppgaven laget nettsiden https://h5p.it.ntnu.no/hbio3005/histopatologi/. Nettsiden inneholder sider bestående av fargeteori, anatomi til organene som inngår i laboratoriekursene i histopatologi og interaktive oppgaver. Ved sykdom forandrer vevet seg, og et utvalg av sykdommer er derfor beskrevet for å illustrere bruken av spesialfargemetoder som benyttes i diagnostikken.

Resultatene fra spørreundersøkelsen gir utrykk for at nettsiden er en god og oversiktlig ressurs, som studentene selv ville brukt dersom den hadde vært tilgjengelig tidligere. Studentene opplever nettsiden «Histopatologi» som en nyttig og informativ ressurs. Resultatene fra spørreundersøkelsen bekrefter valgene vi har tatt i utformingsprosessen. Nettsiden kan videreutvikles av Institutt for bioingeniørfag med ønsket innhold.

In the education of Biomedical Laboratory Science, an important part of the histopathology subject is to learn to assess the quality of tissue slides. The amount of training required can be achieved by using an additional digital resource, which the students always have access to. The purpose of this bachelor thesis was to create a website for histopathology, which is a part of the website «Opplæringsressurs IBF».

The website was developed in WordPress to contain the field of histopathology. The website was created with relevant theory and interactive content. The H5P content on the website was embedded in WordPress using an H5P-plugin. Illustrative pictures of tissue slides used on the website were stained and photographed in the student laboratory of the Department of Biomedical Laboratory Science. The website was tested by third-year students at the department, and the feedback was received in a questionnaire.

In this assignment we have created the website https://h5p.it.ntnu.no/hbio3005/histopatologi/. The website contains pages consisting of staining theory, anatomy of the organs that are part of the laboratory courses in histopathology, and interactive tasks. Tissue changes with disease, therefore, a variety of diseases are described to illustrate the use of special staining methods used in diagnostics.

Results from the survey indicate that the website is a well-organized resource, which the students would have used if it had been available earlier. The students experience the website «Histopathology» as a useful and informative resource. The results from the survey confirm the choices we have made in the developing process. The website can be further developed by the Department of Biomedical Laboratory Science with desired content.
