This white paper is conducted for Lean Business encompassing a first attempt at empirical testing of data extracted from the Lean Business database. Lean Business adhere to the Lean Startup Movement, where the core principle is that static business planning should be replaced with a continuous dynamic business model development and that doing so increases chances of success. To begin to understand lean startup and entrepreneurial behavior the potential differences in focus on the different business model canvas elements have been investigated. Based on two samples, one for dynamic use and one for static use of the business model canvas, differences were investigated statistically. A distinction in focus on the different business model elements between a dynamic and a static approach could not be found. However, statistical testing of quantitative data represents an important step towards understanding entrepreneurship.
