Ergoterapi i spesialisthelsetjenesten; hvilken oppfatning har andre faggrupper av ergoterapeutens rolle?

Kort beskrivelse av bacheloroppgaven:
Ergoterapeutrollen kan ses på som en sosialt konstruert rolle. Det at andre har forventninger til ens yrkesutøvelse kan medføre til at en heller møter disse forventningene, istedenfor å bevare sin egen yrkesutøvelse. Ergoterapeuter i dag kan oppleve å bli møtt av uønsket forventning til ens rolle og arbeidsoppgaver.
Oppgaven vil se på hvilke oppfatninger annet helsepersonell har av ergoterapeuten som fagperson, i henhold til arbeidsoppgaver, tverrfaglig samarbeid og kompetanse. Ved å få innsikt og tanker om deres erfaringer på dette området, kan oppgaven bidra til en bedre forståelse av ergoterapeutens rolle og yrkesutøvelse.
Kvalitativ metode med fokusgruppeintervju er benyttet. Informantene er blitt innhentet ved hjelp av kontaktpersoner: yrkesaktive ergoterapeuter i spesialisthelsetjenesten. Informantene er utdannede sykepleiere og fysioterapeuter og ansatt innenfor den somatiske delen av spesialisthelsetjenesten. Analysemetoden er basert på analyse med fokus på mening.
Resultatene gir en oversikt over hva slags forventninger og forståelse annet helsepersonell har av ergoterapeuten i spesialisthelsetjenesten. Dette innebærer kunnskap om ergoterapi, arbeidsoppgaver og tverrfaglig samarbeid.
Det ses at ergoterapeuter har et aktivitetsperspektiv i sin yrkesutøvelse, og at ergoterapeuten er tett integrert i det tverrfaglige team. Funnene viser at ergoterapeuten spiller en viktig rolle i spesialisthelsetjenesten og blir verdsatt av sine samarbeidspartnere. Short description of this bachelor thesis:
The role of occupational therapist can be viewed as a social constructed role. Other expectations to one’s professionals’ practice may lead to a practice that consists of meeting this expectation rather than preserving your own professional practice. Occupational therapist today may experience unwanted expectations regarding role and work tasks.
This assignment focuses on what assumptions other healthcare professionals have regarding work tasks, interdisciplinary collaboration and competence of occupational therapists. By obtaining insight and thoughts surrounding this topic, this assignment may create a better understanding of the role of occupational therapists and their field of practice.
This study is based on a quality method and there has been used focus group interviews. The participants were recruited through occupational therapist working in specialised health care. The participants are educated physiotherapists and nurses that are working in the somatic part of the specialised health care. Method of analysis is based on analysis with focus on extracting meaning.
The results present an overview regarding which expectations the occupational therapist is faced with, and how other professionals understand the occupational therapist in specialised health care. This includes; knowledge of occupational therapy, work tasks and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Occupational therapists’ field of practice is based on an occupation perspective. The occupational therapists are closely connected with the interdisciplinary team. The results show that occupational therapist is important in specialist health care, and highly valued by the other professionals.
