Hvordan kan sykepleier tilrettelegge kommunikasjon og samhandling hos barn med kreft i sykehus?

Sammendrag:

Bakgrunn: For å utøve god sykepleier til barn forutsetter det kunnskap om kommunikasjon og samhandling. God kommunikasjon er nøkkelen til å skape et tillitsforhold til barn. Bruk av kommunikasjonsverktøy som er tilpasset barnets alder og utvikling, er viktig for å fremme trygghet og tillit til barnet.

Hensikt: Hensikten med denne litteraturstudien er å få innsikt og nye kunnskaper om hvordan sykepleier kan tilrettelegge for god kommunikasjon og samhandling med kreftsyke barn i sykehus.

Metode: Metoden som er brukt i denne studien er litteraturstudie der vitenskapelige artikler er funnet ved systematisk søking og kritisk gransking. Artiklene er kritisk vurdert opp mot valgt problemstilling. Databasene som er brukt er Medline (Ovid) og Cinahl.

Resultat: Resultater viser at kommunikasjonsverktøy er et viktig virkemiddel i kommunikasjon med barn. Funn viser at hjelpemidler i samtaler med barn gjør det lettere å snakke om opplevelser og følelser, og er viktig for å samle inn informasjon fra barns perspektiv.

Konklusjon: Kommunikasjon er et viktig verktøy som ansees som overførbar i sykepleieutøvelsen og er en viktig ferdighet sykepleier utøver i møte med barn. Opparbeiding av tillit til barn over tid er avgjørende. For at barn skal kunne være mottakelige for informasjon må tillit og trygghet mellom sykepleier og barnet være tilstede. Foreldrene er en viktig ressurs i utførelsen av sykepleie til barn da de fremmer trygghet og redusere stress hos barnet. Ved å ha kunnskaper om utviklingsnivået til barnet får sykepleier større innsikt i hvordan man kan tilrettelegge informasjonen som gis. Kommunikasjonsverktøy kan brukes terapeutisk i kommunikasjonen og kan ha en fremmende effekt. Det å forstå og bli forstått er et grunnleggende behov alle mennesker har dette understreker betydningen av sykepleiers evne til kommunikasjon.

Abstract:

Background: To exert good nursing to children it requires knowledge of communication and interaction. The key to creating a relationship with children is through good communication. The use of communication tools adjusted to the child's age and development is important for promoting the child's trust and feeling secure.   

Aim: The aim of this study is to develop insights and gain new knowledge about how the nurse can facilitate good communication and interaction with children diagnosed with cancer in hospital.

Method: The method used in this study is a literature study. Scientific articles have been found through systematic searching and critical investigation. The articles are critically evaluated against the chosen issue. Medline (Ovid) and Cinahl are the databases used in this study.  

Results: The results show that communication tools are important in communication with children. The results show that use of aids in conversations with children can make it easier to talk about experiences and emotions, and are important for gathering information from a child's perspective.

Conclusion: Communication is considered transferable to the nursing practice and it is seen as an important skill the nurse performs in the interactions with children. It is important to build up the trust to the child over time. The trust and security between the nurse and the child must be present in order for the child to be receptive of information. The parents are an important resource in the performance of nursing for children as they promote safety and reduce stress. The knowledge about the children's level of development will give you better insights into adapting the information you provide. Communication tools can be used therapeutically in communication and can promote the communication. To understand and be understood is a basic need for people, and therefore nurses will have an important role in preparing the communication.
