Lately, it has been widely discussed that the seafood consumption in Norway is lower than recommended, especially among the younger population. The purpose of the assignment is to study the fish consumption among young adults in the age group of 18-40 years in Norway. It will be examined whether the consumption of fish in this group is lower than national recommendations for intake and what may be the reason for this. Based on this, the following research question was formulated: "How is the eating habits of young adults regarding fish and which factors affects the intake?". To answer the topic, a quantitative survey was conducted. The survey was spread on social media to reach a large number of young adults. The surveys questions are about the eating habits and the level of knowledge about fish and health among young adults, as well as the reasons why fish is deselected and the knowledge of national seafood campaigns. The results implicated that young adults in the age group 18-40 probably consume too little fish compared to national recommendation for weekly intake of fish. According to the results, the target group has good knowledge that fish is healthy. Many young adults want to eat more fish. However, high prices and not knowing what dishes they can make is the key reasons why young adults eat too little fish. The results also show that the majority of the target group does not know about recent seafood campaigns of the Norwegian Seafood Council.
