Abstract

Tittel: Seksuelle overgrep begått av personer med utviklingshemming

Hensikt: Hensikten med denne bacheloroppgaven er å finne artikler som belyser min problemstilling; Kan vernepleiere bidra til å begrense forekomsten av seksuelle overgrep begått av personer med utviklingshemming? Mer spesifikk ut ifra et individ-, system- og samfunnsnivå, der jeg vil belyse risikofaktorer som kan bidra til at seksuelle overgrep blir begått.

Metode: I denne bacheloroppgaven er litteraturstudie brukt som metode, og det er inkludert 7 forskningsartikler for å belyse problemstillingen.

Resultat: Funnene i de syv forskningsartiklene som ble valgt i denne studien belyste ulike risikofaktorer som kan bidra til at personer med utviklingshemming begår seksuelle overgrep. Funnene ble sammenfattet i to hovedtemaer som omhandler: 1. Risikofaktorer på individnivå 2. Risikofaktorer på system- og samfunnsnivå

Konklusjon: For at vernepleiere skal kunne begrense forekomsten av seksuelle overgrep begått av personer med utviklingshemming krever det god kompetanse og gode kunnskaper om utviklingshemming og seksualitet, samt forekomst av seksuelle overgrep. Man må også evne å skape gode relasjoner for å legge til rette for åpenhet. Man må tilrettelegge for et seksualvennlig miljø på arbeidsplassen, samt å minske barrierer som bidrar til at helsepersonell ikke velger å bistå med seksualitet- og samlivsopplæring.

Title: Sexual abuse committed by people with developmental disabilities

Aim: The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to find articles that illustrate my problem to be addressed: Can vernepleiere help limit the incidences of sexual abuse committed by people with developmental disabilities? More specifically, based on an individual, system and community level, where I will shed light on risk factors that can contribute to sexual abuse being committed.

Method: In this bachelor's thesis, literature study is used as a method, and 7 research articles is included to illustrate the problem to be adressed.

Result: The findings of the seven research articles that were selected in this study highlighted various risk factors that can contribute to people with developmental disabilities committing sexual abuse. The findings were summarized in two main topics dealing with: 1. Risk factors at the individual level 2. Risk factors at the system and community level

Conclusion:In order for vernepleiere to be able to limit the incidences of sexual abuse committed by persons with developmental disabilities, it requires good competence and good knowledge about developmental disability and sexuality, as well as the occurrence of sexual abuse. One must also be able to create good relations to facilitate openness. One needs to facilitate a sex-friendly environment in the workplace, as well as to reduce barriers that contribute to health personnel not choosing to assist with sexuality and cohabitation education.
