Sammendrag
Siden 1990 – tallet har begrepet inkludering vært mye i fokus i den norske skole. Oppgaven vil forsøke å belyse hvilken betydning spesialundervisning har for elever med utviklingshemming i forhold til inkludering i grunnskolen. Dette er en litteraturstudie og det er fem vitenskapelige publikasjoner som skal belyse problemstillingen. Oppgaven består av tre sentrale begrep; utviklingshemming, spesialundervisning og inkludering. Disse tre begrepene kan sees i samsvar med hverandre. Elever med utviklingshemming har ulike behov og begrensninger. Dette vil være med på å påvirke tilretteleggingen av undervisningen i skolen, som igjen vil påvirke inkluderingen i skolen. Resultatene viser at spesialundervisning utenfor klasserommet kan være et hinder for inkludering med felleskapet. Desto eldre elevene blir, jo vanskeligere er det å tilrettelegge spesialundervisningen slik at den blir inkluderende.

This report will highlight the importance of special education has for students with intellectual disability in relation to inclusion in primary and secondary school. This report is a summary of five scientific publications with focus upon this question. This report has focus upon three main concepts; intellectual disability, special education and inclusion. These three terms can be seen in accordance with each other. Students with intellectual disability has different needs and limitations in theirs daily life. This will have major importance for facilitation of teaching at primary and secondary school. This will have major influence upon how they are included in the teaching at the school. The results show that special education outside the classroom can be an obstacle to inclusion with the student fellowship. The results also show that the older the students become, the more problematic it will be to facilitate special education, which also should be inclusive.
