Slå et slag for ergoterapi i kommunehelsetjenesten

Abstract

Hensikten med bacheloroppgaven er å få en forståelse for og innblikk i hvordan ergoterapeuter i kommunehelsetjenesten jobber med personer som har hatt hjerneslag. Samhandlingsreformen beskriver en ny kommunerolle hvor kommunene skal ha mer ansvar enn det de hadde før. I 2016 ble det registrert 8650 hjerneslag ved norske sykehus. Økning i antall eldre og høyere levealder kan føre til større forekomst av sykdommer og hjerneslag er en av disse sykdommene. Bacheloroppgaven er basert på kvantitativ metode, ved bruk av en spørreundersøkelse. Spørreundersøkelsen ble lagt ut på sosiale medier og sendt ut til 69 kommuner i region øst (Oppland, Hedmark og Buskerud). Deltakerne i spørreundersøkelsen er ergoterapeuter i kommunehelsetjenesten som jobber med personer som har hatt et hjerneslag. Med bakgrunn i resultatene fra spørreundersøkelsen ga funnene en indikator på hvordan ergoterapeuter arbeider i kommunehelsetjenesten med personer som har hatt hjerneslag. Den gir informasjon om hvordan ergoterapeuters praksis er i de ulike kommunene. Resultatene kan tyde på at det eksisterer utfordringer og forskjeller i hvordan kommuneergoterapeuter arbeider med personer som har hjerneslag.

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to get an understanding of and insight into how occupational therapists within municipal healthcare service work with people who have had a stroke. The coordination reform describes a new role for the municipal healthcare service where the municipalities will have more responsibility than they had before. In 2016, 8650 strokes were registered at Norwegian hospitals. An increasing number of elderly and a higher life expectancy can lead to a greater occurrence of diseases and stroke is one of these diseases. The Bachelor thesis is based on quantitative method, using a survey. The survey was posted on social media and sent to 69 municipalities in the region east (Oppland, Hedmark and Buskerud). Participants in the survey are occupational therapists in the municipal healthcare service working with people who have had a stroke. Based on the results of the survey, the findings gave an indicator of how occupational therapists work in the municipal healthcare service with people who have had a stroke. It provides information on how occupational therapists practice in the different municipalities. The results may indicate that there are challenges and differences in how occupational therapists in the municipal healthcare service work with people who have had a stroke.
