dc.description.abstractTraumatisk skade fra ulykker er noe som kan være med på å skade barnets selvtillit, de kan føle maktesløshet, få en skyldfølelse eller skam. Det kan i tillegg være med på å påvirke barnets sosiale nettverk. Barn med traumatisk skade har en betydelig reduksjon i livskvalitet, samt redusere evne til å kunne kommunisere, deltakelse i aktivitet og ta vare på seg selv. Hensikten med studien er å undersøke ergoterapeuters erfaringer med å fremme engasjement hos barn og unge i lek og fritidsaktiviteter etter traumatisk skade. Det har blitt benyttet kvalitativ metode med semistrukturert intervju for å utforske forskningsspørsmålet. Det ble valgt informanter fra spesialisthelsetjenesten som arbeider med barn i rehabilitering. Meningskonsentrering er blitt benyttet i analysearbeidet. Resultatene viser ergoterapeuters erfaringer på hva som fremmer engasjement, påvirkningsfaktorene ble kategorisert i planlegging av intervensjon, mulighetene i institusjon, lokalmiljøets påvirkning og holdninger til barn og pårørende. Resultatet gir et bilde på hvordan ergoterapeutene jobber med barn i rehabilitering. De har en del like og ulike strategier for å fremme engasjement til deltakelse. Felles for alle er at lek blir benyttet som en viktig del av rehabilitering.nb_NO
dc.description.abstractA traumatic injury from an accident is something that might harm a child's self-esteem, they may feel powerlessness, guilt or shame. It can also affect a child's social network. Children with traumatic injury have a significant reduction in quality of life, as well as severe reduced ability to communicate, participate in activity and take care of themselves. The purpose of this assignment is to examine occupational therapist´s experiences on how they encourage children and adolescent to play and participate in social activities after a traumatic injury. There has been used a qualitative method with semi structured interviews to explore this research question. The informants were chosen from the Specialist Health Service who work with children in rehabilitation after a traumatic injury. In the analysis of the data we have been using “mind concentration”. The results of this study shows how the occupational therapists work with the children during the rehabilitation. The data shows that they use different kinds of strategies to engage the children and young adults to participate in various activities. They have in common that they all use play and games as an important part of the rehabilitation. Throughout this study, we look at how they encourage involvement, the way they evaluate impacting factors and plan intervention, the different possibilities that are offered at the different institutions and how the local environment impact the children and their relative´s perceptions.nb_NO
