Abstract
In Norway there is currently a national project to clean the country’s entire coastline of
marine plastic waste. The artistic outcome referenced in this document is a reflection on the
different aspects of this effort primarily through a participatory documentary photographic
approach conducted over several field trips, with a particular focus on the arctic region. It
considers the environments where the work takes place, visualises the people and nature
of the labour involved, and also examines the plastic matter being collected.
