Kirken og soldaten - Utfordringen med nye minnesteder for gamle hendelser

Abstract

I april 2020 ble det plassert et krigsminnesmerke foran middelalderkirken Hustad på Sandvollan i Inderøy kommune. Denne oppgaven tar for seg diskusjonene som oppsto etter at krigsminnesmerke, «After the battle», ble plassert foran kirken og utforsker om plasseringen av minnesmerke påvirker det kollektive minnet i Inderøy kommune. Oppgaven er delt inn i to hoveddeler, hvor den første delen tar for seg bakgrunnen til Hustad kirke og den historiske hendelsen minnesmerke er satt opp for å minnes. Den andre delen utforsker minnesmerkets etablering og diskusjonene rundt dens utforming og plassering, for så å sette opp argumentene i diskusjonene opp mot kulturminne teori.

In April of 2020 was a war memorial placed in front of the medieval church Hustad at Sandvollan in Inderøy municipality. This thesis explores the discussions that started after the war memorial, “After the battle”, was placed in front of the church and explores whether the placement of the memorial has influenced the collective memory in Inderøy municipality. The thesis is separated into two main parts, where the first part explores the background of Hustad church and the historical event the memorial is set up to commemorate. The second part explores how the memorial came to be and the discussion about its design and placement, and then set up the arguments in the discussions against cultural heritage theory.
