Abstract

In this text I contextualize the different mediums I use in my art, explaining my view of contemporary circus and my connection to performance and visual storytelling, my work with ceramics and the methodology I use to create sculptures in tandem with the clay's intrinsic qualities. I go over my inspirations and the themes that I explore in my art, working towards connecting the two directions through my final bachelor project “Fragility in the unknown”, which culminates as a performance using cordé lisse (circus rope), music and ceramic sculptures suspended in the air around me, as I explore the relationship between a traditional circus discipline and the installation I have created and become part of.
