Regnskapsanalyse av Telia Norge AS

Abstract

Denne semesteroppgaven går gjennom en regnskapsanalyse av telekommunikasjonsselskapet Telia Norge AS, samt en strategisk analyse. Telia Norge AS er en del av konsernet Telia Company AB, som har sitt hovedkontor i Sverige. Selskapets virksomhet er rettet mot det norske markedet, med fokus på markedsandeler og operasjonell drift i Norge. Bedriften er en av de ledende aktørene innen telekommunikasjon i Norge.

Regnskapsanalysen er gjennomført ved å foreta en nøkkeltallsanalyse som gir oss innsikt i den økonomiske situasjonen i form av lønnsomhet, likviditet og soliditet. Vi tar utgangspunkt i regnskapstallene fra årsregnskapene for perioden 2019-2023 som ble hentet fra Brønnøysundsregistrene. For å oppnå en bedre forståelse av Telia Norge AS sin økonomiske situasjon, sammenlignes våre beregninger med tilsvarende tall for Telenor Norge AS, som benyttes som benchmark i analysen. Som et supplement til regnskapsanalysen gjennomførte vi en strategisk analyse ved hjelp av PESTEL-verktøyet. Dette bidrar til et mer helhetlig bilde av selskapet og dets omgivelser.

Den økonomiske situasjonen i den observerte perioden har vært preget av betydelige uroligheter. Dette kommer til uttrykk allerede tidlig i analyseperioden, da pandemien fikk full effekt. I tillegg har perioden vært påvirket av andre faktorer som generell økonomisk usikkerhet og krig. Til tross for utfordringene, stiller Telia Norge AS relativt sterkt, spesielt i forhold til benchmarkbedriften Telenor Norge AS.

This semester paper presents a financial analysis of the telecommunications company Telia Norge AS, along with a strategic analysis. Telia Norge AS is part of the Telia Company AB group, which is headquartered in Sweden. The company operates in the Norwegian market, focusing on market share and operational activities in Norway. It is one of the leading players in the Norwegian telecommunications industry. The financial analysis is conducted through a key ratio analysis, providing insight into the company’s financial position in terms of profitability, liquidity, and solvency. The analysis is based on financial figures from the annual reports for the period 2019–2023, obtained from the Brønnøysund Register Centre. To gain a better understanding of Telia Norge AS’s financial situation, our calculations are compared with corresponding figures from Telenor Norge AS, which is used as the benchmark company in the analysis. As a supplement to the financial analysis, a strategic analysis was carried out using the PESTEL framework. This contributes to a more comprehensive view of the company and its external environment. The economic conditions during the observed period have been marked by significant instability. This is evident early in the analysis period, as the pandemic had a full impact. In addition, the period was affected by other factors such as general economic uncertainty and war. Despite these challenges, Telia Norge AS demonstrates a relatively strong position, particularly in comparison to the benchmark company, Telenor Norge AS.
